BVVS Ayurvedic Medical College & research centre is one of the prominent Ayurveda institute in Karnataka under Shri Basaveshwar Veerashaiva Vidya Vardhak Sangha came into existence on Karthika Shuddha Pratipada 1828 Shaka with the sole objectives to spread education among the rural masses. His Holiness Shri Gurubasava Swamiji of Belur graced the Sangha as the first president. He was a legendary ascetic and a mystic. His omniscience tended and nurtured the Sangha through its infancy and shaped its destiny.
