About Bidar City
Bidar is a picturesque city in the northeastern part of Karnataka. It is situated in Bidar district. Bidar metropolitan area is a fastly growing part of Karnataka. The city is situated at the far end of the state from Capital Bangalore.Distance between the two cities being around 700 kilometres.The district of Bidar borders with Maharashtra in the west and state of Telangana in the east. The city is also known for being on the holiest sites of Sikh pilgrimage. Bidri handicrafts are also a famous feature of the city.
According to the book published by the state department of archaeology about Bidar, titled “ Bidar Heritage”, of 61 monuments in Bidar 30 lie alone the Bidar city. Such Rich cultural heritage gives it the nickname of “ The city of whispering monuments”.500 hundred years old Bidar Fort is a famous tourist spot. Adding to all this is the cool climate of Bidar. Bidar is a hilltop city. It is known for being coldest and wettest part of northern Karnataka. Not only this the city has also secured 22nd spot among the cleanest cities across India. It is the 5th cleanest city in Karnataka. Thus Bidar presents itself as a great amalgamation of cultural richness and progress.
