About Yadgiri City
Yadgir is a city situated in the state of Karnataka. It is administrative headquarters of the district by the same name. The district is comparatively new. It came into existence w.e.f. 30.12.2009 only, as 30th district of Karnataka. It lies about 500 kilometres north to the capital city of Bangalore. Bordering the Yadgir district are districts of Kalaburgi, Vijayapur and Raichur. It also shares borders with the state of Telangana. The district has a rich history as it was once the capital city of Yadav Kingdom. This history has resulted in Yadgir being dotted with many historical monuments among other places to explore in the city.
Geographically Yadgir has Bhima river flowing through the town. The city is known for its richness in natural resources. Recently Yadgir has shown great growth in industries such as cement, textile and leather industry. From the education point of view also Yadgir offers many opportunities.
