AYUSH
AYUSH refers to Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy. This medical practice has been seen since ages, but recently this particular field of study has come into light as an alternative to MBBS or MD (which includes allopathy medicine). The candidates who are interested in Ayurveda medicinal values and in sacrificing their lives for treating and saving other lives, then they can take up the course to study. Treating with medical drugs not always show the expected results and does not always effect the patient.
The courses that are offered: BAMS, BHMS, BNYS, BSMS, BUMS. If the candidates want then they can further proceed with post-graduation course, post doctorate degree as higher education will help them to know better about medicinal benefits of the Ayurveda and they can become successful at their profession. The bachelor degree study has a three to four year structured course syllabus for eight semesters, whereas in the post-graduation study, the course structure is for two years which is spread across four to six semesters.
This course has been designed for the students who are fascinated by the medical terminology and medical practices. After completing 10+2 education, aspiring students can study this course, but they must have a science stream as a background. If the students are trying to pursue this in their post-graduation course then they must have a medical background in their bachelor degree. Students will have a vast spectrum of job opportunities in front of them after studying AYUSH. For being eligible for the course, the merit list will not be enough for the students. There are entrance exams (national level ‘NET’ or university level) which will make the students eligible for taking admissions in some colleges. The course will have both academic and practical sessions.

In a report by Deccan Herald, it is mentioned that the AYUSH doctors used to prescribe allopathic drugs to treat the patients primarily, and that is illegal. According to Karnataka state government order, few AYUSH doctors were barred from the hospitals for prescribing allopathic drugs in emergencies.
There has been a rise in the registered number of AYUSH doctors in India from 7,73,668 in 2017 to 7,99,879 in 2018. It has the 55.47 per cent registered ayurvedic doctors.
Job Roles
Once a student completes its bachelor degree, he or she can choose to study further. An AYUSH practitioner can work with research centers, Pharmaceutical Industry, Hospitals, Private clinics, etc. as medical researcher, Healthcare consultant, Ayurvedic doctors, Clinical Representative, Drug Specialist, Therapist, Speaker, etc. Teaching will always be on the table. The students will be well versed in working in critical situations, they will have a good communication and interactive skill.
The salary can vary based on the college from where the course has been done, years of experience, the location where you are looking for the job, the company you will be doing your job in, or any higher education you have pursued after the bachelors. Your starting salary after graduation should vary from 2 to 5 lakhs per annum which may eventually go up to 7 lakhs or even more.
