Ayurveda & its Global Reach

Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, the respectable Minister of State (IC) for AYUSH recently has taken a  new approach which elevates Ayurveda to a new level. The Ministry of Ayush offers 104 scholarships every year for foreign nationals across 98 countries to pursue UG, PG and Ph.D. courses in reputed institutions of India. It is expected that these steps will enhance the interest to study  Ayurveda courses in the mindset of lots of foreign nationals in various countries.

The Ministry of AYUSH holds the contract of 23 Country to Country MoUs in the field of traditional medicine and Homeopathy. The countries are Nepal, Bangladesh, WHO, Germany, Myanmar, Malaysia, Mongolia, etc. 22 MoUs have been signed for having control of collaborative research in various foreign universities such as Germany, United Kingdom, Canada, United States, etc. 13 MoU are for establishing AYUSH Academic Chairs which have been signed with lots of foreign institutions situated in Trinidad & Tobago, South Africa, Thailand, Russia Indonesia Slovenia, Armenia, etc.

The AYUSH Information cell is established in 31 countries by the Ministry of Ayush. It is for spreading the AYUSH system of Medicine.

Another initiative to elevate Ayurveda education by the Ministry of Ayush in the discussion with  AYUSH experts in foreign countries for participating in international conferences, seminars, special assignments of the Govt of India for promoting and propagating the AYUSH system. The incentives are also given to the AYUSH drug manufacturers/ entrepreneurs/ AYUSH institutions to participate in international conferences, seminars, etc. It is an attempt to generate awareness amongst the participating audiences for the AYUSH system of Medicine. Also, there is a grant of 1 cr. rupees to support and strengthen the health centers across foreign host countries.
