Hasan SDM College of Ayurveda has obtained an anatomage table, a virtual 3D dissection unit, for teaching anatomy subject to students. This equipment was given by Dr. VeerendraHeggade, president of SDM education society, on July 9 2022.
Principal of the college Dr. Prasanna N. Rao, told the media persons that the new tool is beneficial for teaching human anatomy to medical aspirants. This modern learning table costs about ₹3 crore. It would carry different 3-D images of human body of various health conditions. That tool anatomage table is such that by clicking on the screen, one can go deeper into the body step by step, to understand its better functioning. The college has procured this unit to communicate a modern touch to the study of AYUSH courses.
This amazing unit serves as a different tool for teaching human anatomy but would not replace the dissection of actual remains in medical colleges. Medical students will continue to dissect cadavers with proper methods. Meanwhile, this anatomage table gives aspirants a wide scope to understand better the status of human beings with various medical conditions said to Dr. Prasanna N. Rao.
However, the 25th graduation ceremony has been organized on the college campus on 9th July at 11 a.m. in which more than 230 students will receive their degrees. Registrar of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, M.R. Ravi Kumar or chairperson of Board of Studies Dr. Ahalya Sharma, and others all participated, said Dr. Rao.
