    Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

    This is an undergraduate programme that is a combination of modern medicine with traditional ayurvedic healing techniques. It is a five-and-a-half-year-long course The student gets an Ayurvedacharya degree on completing the course successfully.

    They learn about the following in the BAMS course

    • The ayurvedic, as well as the modern perspectives of the generic medicines, paediatrics, ENT, ophthalmology, gynaecology, obstetrics, etc. are taught
    • It also includes a bio-cleansing procedure, which is termed as Panchkarma. Students also get to know about the classical texts of ancient Ayurveda, which are the storehouse of all the important information
    • Modern anatomy and physiology are taught in terms of the ayurvedic approach

    Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS)

    This is an undergraduate degree that involves knowledge dissipation to the students regarding homoeopathic treatment procedures. The method makes use of medicines with extremely diluted substances that enable self-healing in the body. The course has a duration of four and a half years and on completion of the course, the candidate will be designated as a doctor. One can become a private practice medical assistant, doctor, public health specialist, lecturer, consultant, spa director, scientist, therapist, or pharmacist.
    Candidates opting for the BHMS course can choose from various available specialisations as their next step in their career. These are Psychiatry, Skin Specialist, Infertility, Homoeopathic Pharmacy, and Paediatrics.

    Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS)

    This undergraduate AYUSH course in India is associated with the Unani healing system. There are four prime components on which the Unani system is based; fire, water, air, and earth. This method has been highly effective for weight loss, kidney stones, psoriasis, arthritis, diabetes, and more. The duration of the main course is four years and six months, which is distributed into three professional exams, each of 18 months.

    Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yoga Sciences (BNYS)

    BNYS teaches students about traditional naturopathic medicine as well as modern medicine. The naturopathic healing method supported by Naturopathy is used for concentrating on the body’s innate capability of self-healing. The course lasts for a period of five and a half years in which the classroom study is for a major part, i.e., four and a half years, and the remaining one year is for an internship, which is compulsory.     AYUSH Courses Admission 2022

    The candidates who are interested in pursuing any of the above-mentioned programmes must appear for an entrance test for either UG or PG courses. In India, there are two entrance exams that are conducted, one each for UG and PG courses. Here are the entrance exams that the aspirants will need to attempt in order to take admission to the AYUSH courses in India.

    AYUSH Courses Admission Eligibility 2022

    The candidates who wish to pursue any one of the programmes will first need to meet the Ayush eligibility criteria in India. The eligibility criteria for the courses will be set by the college, institute or University that offers the programme. However, aspirants will still be required to have satisfied the general eligibility criteria for AYUSH in India. Check out the eligibility criteria for the programmes.

    AYUSH UG Courses Eligibility Criteria 2022

    For admissions to the undergraduate programmes in AYUSH, interested candidates will need to ensure that they meet the AYUSH UG eligibility criteria 2022. As mentioned above, candidates must appear for an entrance test in order to take admission to any one of the Ayush UG courses in India.

    • Candidates will have to qualify the eligibility criteria for the NEET 2022, before applying for any AYUSH programme. As per the eligibility criteria.
    • Candidates should have cleared class 12 board examinations in the stream of science with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology Along with English from CBSE or any other recognised state board.
    • Candidates who are currently appearing for class 12 board examinations will also be eligible for the exam, however, they will need to present the passing certificates with the required percentage, in the specified subjects.
    • Candidates will need to ensure that they have obtained a minimum aggregate score of 50% (for General Category) in the qualifying exam. Candidates from reserved categories will be offered relaxations as per the government guidelines.
    • For candidates who fall under SC/ST/OBC category and PwD category in SC/ST/OBC will need to ensure that they have obtained a minimum aggregate score of 40%.
    • Candidates belonging to General Category but also in PwD category will be required to have a minimum aggregate score of 45% in the qualifying exam.
    • Candidates will also be offered state-quota reservation as well, for those who appear for NEET in their respective domicile states.

    AYUSH PG Courses Eligibility Criteria 2022

    • The candidates wishing to pursue one of the PG courses in Ayush will be required to have to qualify the AYUSH PG eligibility criteria 2022. Just like the admissions to the UG AYUSH programmes, the candidates will be required to sit for an all India entrance test meant for AYUSH PG courses. As per the eligibility criteria;
    • A valid UG degree in BUMS, BAMS, BHMS, BNYS, BSMS or a graded BHMS.

    • Candidates with a Provisional BUMS, BAMS, BHMS, BNYS, BSMS or a graded BHMS degree as per the guidelines of IMCC 1970/HCC 1973 Act provisions will also be eligible for the exam. Along with this, candidates will need to have a provisional or permanent registration certificate in BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, BNYS, BSMS or a graded BHMS degree which has been issued by CCH, CCIM, Universities, State Board, Deemed Universities will also be eligible.
    • Along with the aforementioned eligibility criteria, the candidates should have completed a one-year Internship, before 30th September 2019, in order to apply for AIAPGET 2022.

    AYUSH Courses Application Process 2022

    The candidates need to appear for either NEET-UG 2022 or AIAPGET 2022. All the selections of the candidates for the AYUSH course at the UG and PG levels will be done basis the scores in the entrance exam. Therefore, the candidates will be required to apply for the entrance exam, irrespective of the course they choose.

    AYUSH Courses Admission and Counseling Process 2022

    Once the candidate has applied for the respective entrance exam, i.e. NEET-UG or AIAPGET, they will be able to go through the AYUSH selection Process in India 2022. For admissions to either undergraduate or postgraduate programmes, candidates will need to score a rank in one of the entrance tests. All admissions, as stated above, are done on the basis of the entrance exam scores.

    After attempting the respective entrance test, the candidates will be asked to register for a counselling process. Through the counselling process, the candidates will be asked their preferred college, Institute or University, under which they wish to pursue the respective AYUSH course. Through the counselling process, the candidates will be allotted the seats. The seat allotment for the various AYUSH courses will be dependent on the score obtained by the candidate in the entrance tests, i.e. NEET-UG 2022 or AIAPGET 2022.
    The counselling process for both NEET-UG 2022 and AIAPGET 2022 will allow the candidates to select the college and course of their choice in the field of Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy. Candidates will need to display their rank or score, which has been obtained in the respective entrance exam.
