In a significant move to enhance administrative efficiency and student convenience, Bangalore University has announced the launch of an online system for issuing Original Transcripts (OT) and Provisional Degree Certificates (PDC). This initiative allows students to apply for and receive these essential academic documents electronically, eliminating the need for physical visits to the university campus.
A university official highlighted the motivation behind this development:
“Every year, thousands of students apply for their OT and PDC, and with the increasing demand for these documents, we have decided to implement an online system to provide them more efficiently. A dedicated software is being developed to facilitate this, and once it is finalized, students will be able to apply online, pay the necessary fees, and receive their certificates via email within a few days.”
Prior to this advancement, students were required to visit the university in person and often faced extended waiting periods to obtain their transcripts and certificates. The new online system is designed to streamline the application process, reduce processing times, and provide timely access to academic credentials.
Registrar (Evaluation) C Srinivas emphasized the importance of the OT, especially for students aiming to pursue further studies abroad:
“The OT is a crucial document as it includes the student’s complete academic record, including the duration of their studies and grades.”
The university plans to launch this service soon, aiming to make academic document access more convenient, particularly for students with urgent needs. This initiative reflects Bangalore University’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve administrative processes and enhance the overall student experience.
