• Forensic Science as a course is divided into three types; Medical, Laboratory and Field Science. Each of the above mentioned types consists of subjects that will be taught to students during their undergraduate course.
• For instance, under medical science, students are taught forensic pathology, psychiatry, psychology, forensic medicine and odontology (Dentistry).
• Under laboratory sciences, the candidates are taught Chemistry, Biology, Toxicology, Ballistics, Fingerprints, Questioned Documents and impressions.

• Even before working on field, students will have practical exposure on how to collect the DNA and how to proceed with the examination and investigation.
• Additionally, students are taught how when evidence from one crime scene is compared with evidence from another using Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) where those crime scenes can be linked to the same perpetrator locally, statewide, and nationally.
