B Sc Forensic Science

Forensic Science is the application of scientific knowledge to criminal investigations and legal problems. It is multidisciplinary course that encompasses various fields such as Biology, Physics, Geology, Psychology, and Social Science. This particular field is a combination of two Latin words ‘forensis’ and ‘science’. The former term ‘forensis’ can be understood as the examination done usually in the public. The term ‘science’ means the ideal way of conquering knowledge. The term “Forensic Psychology” was first coined in 1879, by Wilhelm Wundt, who is often called the father of psychology. Any science can be forensic science if it has some application to justice, criminal and civil law. Moreover, Forensic Science is often compared to Criminalistics, however, Criminalistics refers to types of physical evidences generated by crimes science such as fingerprints, questioned documents, firearms, tool marks, blood and DNA, fire and explosive residues, hairs and fibers, glass and soil particles, paints and plastics, fingerprints, bullets, and much more.
