MAT or Management Aptitude Test is a standardised screening test for admissions to business schools for MBA and allied programmes. The test is being conducted since 1988. In 2003, MAT got approved by Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India as a national level test. Graduates or final year students of any discipline can apply for MAT. The exam is conducted in multiple modes- Internet-Based Test (IBT), Paper Based Test(PBT), Computer-based test (CBT) as opted by the candidate. Candidate can also opt for both test modes.

MAT is an objective type test. The test is designed for screening of students interested in pursuing a post-graduate programme in management. The test is conducted in various modes including CBT, IBTand PBT. Highlights of the test include:

Syllabus of MAT exam is divided into five subsections, namely-
1. Language Comprehension,
2. Mathematical Skills,
3. Data Analysis and Sufficiency,
4. Intelligence and Critical Reasoning and
5. Indian and Global Environment.
Each section has an equal number of questions i.e. 40 questions each, amounting to total 120 questions with a time limit of 150 minutes.

Application form for MAT 2021 February exam is already available on official AIMA website. Application Process is as follows:
Admit Cards for MAT 2021 will be issued online, through the official website. Candidates can download admit card using registration number and their date of birth. Admit cards will be available from the specified date to the date of the exam.
Result of MAT exams is usually announced the month after the exam is conducted. Result od MAT 2020 December exam has been announced. A MAT scorecard consists of sections wise scores, composite score and MAT percentile along with candidate details. A thing to note here is that that result of the MAT is based on a scaled score arrived at by normalising raw score. Also, Scores of Indian and Global Environment section are not taken into consideration while calculating composite score and percentile. Candidates can download their results from the official website.
Cutoff for admission is determined by participating colleges. They determine a minimum MAT percentile for shortlisting the candidate.
Counselling after MAT is done by individual colleges. There is no centralised common counselling. Students are asked for five Institutes of their choice while filling up the application form. After the announcement of results, colleges invite students for further process. The further process may include, group discussion, written test, personal interview, direct admission or any procedure as specified by the college.

The validity of CMAT 2022 score card is for one academic session 2022-2023 only. There are more than 1000 colleges that accept CMAT scores. A candidate can get admission into the current session as long as the CMAT score is valid.
