XAT 2021 Overview

XLRI Jamshedpur conducts XAT on behalf of XAMI. It is a national level test for admission in MBA programmes. XAT scores are used by more than 160 institutes. It is conducted every year in 72 cities across India. If you have a bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration or equivalent in any discipline, then you can apply for this exam.

XAT 2021 Exam Pattern

XAT is an online mode test. It comprises of 100 multiple choice type questions. Candidates are given 180 minutes in total to solve these questions. There is no sectional time limit. However, candidates are advised to divide their time judiciously as sectional cutoff is applicable. Also, the question paper is divided into two time-bound parts. Part 1 has Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning, Decision Making and Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation. It must be completed in 165 minutes. Part 2 will have the General Knowledge section which is to be completed in 15 minutes. Candidates should also note that there is negative marking in XAT. For each correct answer, the candidate gets 1 mark, while for each incorrect attempt 0.25 marks are deducted from the score.

XAT 2021 Application Form

XAT 2021 Registration is closed now. The process of filling the application form, however, is discussed below.

  • Step 1: Register for XAT 2021 on the official website.
  • Step 2: Login using your id and password.
  • Step 3: Fill in the required information.
  • Step 4: Upload Photo and signature.
  • Step 5: Fill in Academic and Work experience details.
  • Step 6: Select programme, if you want to study in XLRI.
  • Step 7: Select the XAT Test City preference. (2 cities)
  • Step 8: Pay the application fee.
  • Step 9: Submit your application form.

XAT 2021 Admit Cards

  • XAT 2021 Admit Cards were released on 21 st December.
  • Candidates could download admit cards till 3rd January.
  • Admits cards were available on the official website of XAT.
  • Admit Card contained candidates photo, roll no., test centre and reporting time.

XAT 2021 Results

  • XAT 2021 result date was announced to be 31st January 2021
  • However, after releasing of answer key on 8 January result is expected to be released soon.
  • Candidates will be able to download scorecards from January 31st to March 31st 2021(Originally announced date).

XAT Expected Cut Off 2021

XAT Counselling

  • There is no centralised counselling after XAT.
  • Process for admission in XLRI through XAT is as follows-
  • Candidates are shortlisted through the cutoff criteria.
  • Shortlisted candidates are called for GD/PI.
  • Final selection is made on basis of XAT score, GDPI performance, academic history and other factors such as work experience etc.
  • Institutes other than XLRI have their own admission/selection process.
  • Timing of opening of registration window also depends on institute.
  • Some institute open window after XAT result while others open it before XAT.

CMAT 2022 Score Validity for MBA Admission

The validity of CMAT 2022 score card is for one academic session 2022-2023 only.  There are more than 1000 colleges that accept CMAT scores. A candidate can get admission into the current session as long as the CMAT score is valid.
