Science stream is one of the most coveted streams of study in India. It is also the second-largest stream in terms of student enrollment at the undergraduate level, according to AISHE report 2019. The report states that 16.5 % of students enrolled at the undergraduate level are enrolled in Science. However, in the higher-level courses, science stream ranked first. The maximum number of students are enrolled in the science stream at the PhD level. According to the same report, 5043732 students enrolled in 2018-19 in B.Sc course. … This data is enough to show how popular science stream is in India. One of the reasons for its popularity is lucrative career opportunities that open for students after completing a course in Science stream. Apart from conventional subjects like Physics, Chemistry etc. offered in science, newer courses such as nanoscience, Data sciences, renewable energy etc have emerged that have great scope for future.
