Overview:

Electronics & Communications Engineering is an undergraduate course for 4 years and after its completion, the students acquire the degree of B.Tech/B.E in ECE. The entry point for this course requires a student who has cleared 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects with a minimum of 55% and clearance of entrance examinations based on merit. Diploma program which is a 3-year course for this stream is also available in some colleges for which the eligibility is the same. They can later join the B.Tech course of any institute in the second year as lateral entry. It mainly involves the study of design, analysis, and application of electronics and communication circuits. Learning ECE enables students to develop new electronic systems useful for real time applications. A B.Tech in ECE focuses on telecommunications, energy and electronics sectors. Science students who are good in Physics and Mathematics seek to get admission in this course. More than 3000 colleges in India offer this course every year. About 6.5 lacs students enroll for entrance exam for this course according to the reports. The regulatory bodies for this course are AICTE and UGC governed by MHRD, Govt of India.

As mentioned above this is a UG program therefore career opportunities in higher education would include M.Tech/M.E in the specialized stream if one pursue Postgraduate. For getting admission in Post graduate one needs to clear the national aptitude common test of GATE. According to the GATE score one chooses the college/university for studying. Further to Post Graduate degree the candidate can opt for Ph.D for research work going through step by step processes of tests. Also, another job prospect for the candidates after pursuing higher education in this field is to become Assistant professors or lecturers and scientists. The candidate after pursuing M.Tech/M.E with no teaching/industrial experience would be 4-5.5 lacs per annum according to the institutes. After gaining experience it will rise as per industry standards. For those aspiring to be scientists their payscale lies between 4-13.5 lacs per annum according to the level of seniority. It is inevitable that there will always remain some societal factors that affect the employment and job scenarios. Students after completing B.Tech in ECE will have promising careers in various government and private sectors as Electronic Engineer, VLSI Engineer & Design Engineer, etc. Freshers can apply through campus interviews or by external source. Usually the fresher’s get a remuneration of INR 1.8 to 3.0 lacs per annum at entry level. After gaining few years of experience they are given the managerial post as a team lead, Asstt manager or executive managers. The average pay scale in these positions lies within INR 14,36,000-19,20,193 per annum. The job market for ECE is on demand and industries are looking for qualified engineers who can assist them on latest technologies. Skilled professionals in robotics, automation technologies, Internet of Things (IoT), mechatronics engineering gets priority for recruitment adding more value to their average pay scale. Almost all the multinational companies like TCS, CTS, Wipro, Accenture, DXC, Syntel, Hexaware, Capegemini, Infosys look for fellows from ECE stream. They are trained to be recruited for various departments. These companies more or less have their branch hubs and operation centres in the metro cities of Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata etc. The manpower strength of these companies are between 1.5-4 lakhs in totality. The common job roles for these companies are Software engineers, application developer, network engineer, hardware engineer, CAD engineer. Bangalore, the Silicon Valley of India is a clouded hub for 45 renowned software companies. The industry now adds more than 200,000 jobs a year providing employment to nearly 10 million people from fresher to experienced professionals.. CBSE Board 2020: Important announcement about new exam dates

The plan to reschedule CBSE (The Central Board of Secondary Education) Class 10 and Class 12 Board Exam 2020 has been conducted for its pending papers along with the evaluation of the answer papers of CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2020 and CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2020. The schedule of the exact Board exam along with other details will be announced on April 14th when the situation of the Coronavirus crisis will be reviewed. It is said by Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Sunday.

HRD minister told in his statement; “I am regularly reviewing the plan of action being followed by schools and colleges during the lockdown. A plan is also ready for conducting pending exams and evaluation as soon as the situation improves and the lockdown is lifted.’’

The students of the CBSE exam should not panic over the new, revised dates or exam schedule. After the decision on the opening of schools and colleges, the CBSE will release press releases for informing the fresh examination dates of class10 and class12 Board exams after reassessment of the situation. All the CBSE students are advised to conduct a check on the official website (cbse.nic.in) for the latest updates on board exams 2020.

Coronavirus outbreak in India: Statistics

As per the statement of the Health Ministry and various open-source websites, the active Coronavirus case in India has risen to 5,194 on 7th April 2020, Tuesday and the number of deaths are documented as 149. 402 patients have been cured apart of active cases till now.

Coronavirus outbreak: Decision on reopening schools, colleges on April 14

The union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal stated in an interview to PTI that the government gives the utmost importance in the safety of the students. The ministry is prepared to ensure students that they will not face any educational loss if they lockdown needs to be extended beyond 21 days.

Before the lockdown was announced on March 24th due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the classes in schools and colleges were suspended and the board exams got postponed. This rule applies to over 800 universities, 40,000 colleges and 12,000 standalone Higher Educational Institutions along with 1.5 lakhs schools in India.

COVID-19: JNU, UGC NET, PhD, NEET, TTE & several other entrance exam postponed

The entrance exams including JNU, UGC, NET and IGNOU Ph.D. and several others got postponed due to the situation of lockdown. The decision has taken by the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

The honorable Minister of Human Resource Development, Ramesh Pokhriyal stated; “This includes admission examinations of Jawaharlal Nehru University UGC NET, IGNOU Ph.D., ICAR exam, NCHM-G and management course. The deadline for these exams had been extended for one month.”  

The  CBSE, NIOS, and NTA have received the direction from the Ministry of Human Resource Development for preparing a revised schedule of examination. The autonomous bodies, as well as NCERT, have been requested to maintain an alternative academic calendar.

The main objective of the Ministry to take the steps to ensure the students’ ease and acceptability for these exams.

The central government also decided to stop the NEET examination in the view of the risk of coronavirus infection. The admission cards have not been issued and now the ministry has prepared a notice to postpone this examination.

A senior official also stated that; “After the nationwide lockdown is implemented, it is no longer possible to conduct this type of examination.”

The exam of JEE Main also got postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak and lockdown situation. 

The same happens to the  Indira Gandhi National Open University which has to be extended the last date for the form submission for the term-end examination to be held on April 30, 2020, without any late fee. Students can submit their exam form on the official website on IGNOU. April 30 is the date for the submission of the assignment which has also been extended.

A senior official of the HRD ministry also stated; “In compliance with the order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on March 24, all the offices of the Ministry of Human Resource Development and its autonomous and subordinate institutions will remain closed for a period of three weeks.”

CLAT 2020 applications and exams dates postponed due to coronavirus

As per the report of Consortium of National Law Universities, 24th May 2020 is the application date of the common law and its deadline is now extended to 25 April 2020.

As of near-global policy of social distancing, puts lots of budding lawyers into examination halls in current situations. The Consortium also agreed to extend the deadline of the application till 31 March 2020; as well as the dates of  10 May 2020. As per the statement of the VC, “We have decided to extend the date of application of [CLAT] submission forms.’’

The postponement is cause for the current circumstances where the lockdown will be approved until 14th April. It is also possible to organize the test on 10 May. It is extremely reasonable to push down the exam date while the Consortium stated that they are closely watching the situation and discussing all the developments.

CLAT 2020 holds lots of plans and reforms; but for the complication of the situation, they currently have their hands full with converting their classes to online tuition. It is the way to manage cohorts of students spread throughout the country.

NEET 2020 to be postponed, JEE will be rescheduled due to Covid-19 lockdown

As per the latest update,  NEET UG 2020 which was scheduled for May 3 has been postponed to the last week of May. The admit card; which was scheduled to be issued on Friday, was postponed after April 15 after assessing the situation; as per the report of NTA.

As per the announcement of JEE authority, the JEE mains entrance exam will also be rescheduled as the lockdown will continue till 15th April.

NTA released a public notice on Friday evening regarding the NEET2020 exam postponed. It also stated that the exact date of the exam will be announced after assessing the environmental situation.

As per the statement of NTA director-general;

“NTA has postponed the ensuing NEET (UG) May 2020 examination scheduled to be held on May 3, 2020.”

NTA also advised students to keep visiting their official websites for further updates. Candidates also need to be individually informed through their registered mobile number.

CBSE, NIOS and CISCE Board postponed their exam till 21st March. As per the statement of a senior official, the new dates will be announced possibly after the lockdown period. Till then, the exact dates remain closed.

As per the report, NTA Possibly waited till school education boards and CBSE announced the new dates for the few of their exams which could not be conducted due to the Coronavirus outbreak. NTA and school boards were supposed to work earlier but now they have to wait till the lockdown period will come to an end.
