MD Dravyaguna Vigyana is a master’s level course in Ayurveda. This particular department 0f Ayurveda involves an advanced study of the principles, qualities, actions, and therapeutic profiles of the food and drug substances in Ayurveda. Duration of the course is three years. You can take admission in the course after completing B.A.M.S. degree recognized by the central council of Indian medicine. • Dravyaguna Vignan also allows the practitioner to choose herbs decoction or herbal combinations that effectively balance the vitiations of doshas, while preventing further imbalances or side effects.
• In this course, students are expected to learn pharmacognosy, pharmacology, and therapeutic uses of the plants. Ayurvedic drugs, especially herbs, are prescribed across different pharmaceutical form such as syrup, lehya among others to produce maximum therapeutic effect.
Going by the trends in the market right now, a career in Ayurveda seems bright. Successful postgraduates of the course typically work across medical colleges and research institutes as researchers, Government and Private hospitals, Content Writing (medical).
The course prepares candidates for professional capacities in healthcare centers and other medical institutions and universities as Examination Researcher, Educator Specialist to contribute productively to therapeutic and health sciences.
